School & Daycare Cleaning 

Schools and daycares run on two cleaning cycles that have almost nothing in common, and a contractor who only does one of them leaves you exposed. During term the priority is touch points and turnaround. Children touch everything, share everything and are close to the floor, so the surfaces that matter are the low ones: table tops, chair backs, door handles at child height, sinks, toilets and the floors themselves. Frequency beats intensity here. A daily pass over the surfaces that actually transmit illness is worth more than a deep clean once a month. Summer is the opposite. The building empties and that is the only window in the year when the work that cannot happen around children becomes possible: carpets extracted properly, hard floors stripped back and resealed, high areas and vents cleared, furniture moved and the floor underneath it dealt with. Miss that window and the building carries the deficit for another year, because it does not reopen until the following summer. Both cycles need booking in advance. Every school and daycare in the county wants the same few weeks in July and August, and the schedule fills. Booking summer work in spring is not us being difficult about it; it is the only way to guarantee the weeks you want. Floors are usually where the money goes. Most classrooms and corridors are VCT or sheet vinyl chosen for durability, and both degrade visibly if the finish is never renewed. A strip and rewax program over summer resets it. Carpeted areas, common in early years rooms and libraries, need truck-mounted hot-water extraction rather than surface cleaning, because what accumulates in a room used by small children goes into the pile rather than sitting on it.
